1. Getting started

Create your account and your first store, and understand what you are looking at.

checkout.tn gives you one order link per product. You share it in your stories, your posts or your ads, your customer orders in seconds, and the order lands in your dashboard, ready to prepare and to deliver against cash on delivery. There is nothing to install, for you or for your customers.

Create your account#

  1. Open app.checkout.tn and choose “Sign up”.
  2. Sign up with your email address or with your Google account.
  3. Confirm your email address: that is the one your order alerts will go to.

Signing up is free and will stay free. No bank card is asked for, and we take no commission on your sales.

Create your first store#

The first time you sign in, checkout.tn asks you to create a store. It is the frame that will hold your products, your orders and your settings. One account can run several stores, one per brand or per activity.

The first-store creation screen
Creating a store: a name, a currency, and you are ready.
  1. Give your store a name: it is the name your customers will see on the order page and in their emails.
  2. Check the currency and the country.
  3. Confirm. You land on your dashboard.

Your dashboard at a glance#

The left-hand column is your navigation: the orders board, the analytics, the orders as a list, the products, the categories, the coupons, the settings and support. Top right you will find the store switcher, the light or dark theme, the language and your account.

The dashboard with the orders board
The home screen: your orders, column by column.

The getting-started list#

Under the navigation, a short list walks you through your first steps: configure the store, add a product, publish it, share its link, receive your first order. It ticks itself off as you go, and you can hide it once you no longer need it.

The getting-started list in the sidebar

On the main pages, a signpost icon starts a guided tour showing where everything is. It also runs by itself on your first visit.

2. Your store

The identity your customers will see: name, logo, colour, contact details and legal pages.

Your store settings decide what your customers see: your order page and your emails carry your name, your logo and your colour, not ours. It all lives in Settings, then your store.

Store settings: name, logo, colour
The General card: your identity in four fields.

Name, logo and colour#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeGeneral

  • The name appears on the order page, in your emails and on the tracking page.
  • The logo is cropped square. A sharp image of at least 400 pixels a side is enough.
  • The accent colour tints the headings and the links of your customer pages. Pick your brand's.
  • The tagline is a short line under the name, for instance your speciality or your city.

Your customers' language#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeStore configuration

The store language decides the language of your order page, of the tracking page and of every email sent to your customers: French, Arabic or English. It is independent of your dashboard's language.

Contact details and social links#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeContact

Your support email and phone appear at the foot of your order page: that is how a customer reaches you before buying. Your Facebook, Instagram and TikTok links add a “Follow us” row to your customer pages.

The notification address is a different thing: it is the one that receives your new-order alerts. Leave it empty and the alerts go to your account address.

Closing temporarily#

The “Open” switch pauses your store: your links stay valid but politely refuse new orders. Useful during a holiday or a general stock-out.

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeStore configuration

If you have your own terms of sale and privacy policy, give their addresses: your customer pages will point at yours. Otherwise they point at checkout.tn's.

3. Your products

Create a product, its photos, its variants, its stock and its price, then publish it.

A product holds everything your customer will see: photos, a description, a price, a stock, and sizes or colours if you need them. Until it is published it stays a draft only you can see.

The product list
The product list: status, price, stock and order link.

Create a product#

Where to go:DashboardProductsCreate a product

  1. Open Products, then “Create a product”.
  2. Give it a clear name, the one your customer will recognise on their order.
  3. Write the description: material, size, delay, anything that saves a question in a private message.
  4. Save. The product exists, and you can carry on filling it in.

Photos and videos#

Where to go:DashboardProductsyour productMedia (photos & videos)

The first image becomes the thumbnail everywhere: in your list, on the shared link, at the top of the order page. Add several and your customer will swipe through them. Photos are cropped square as you add them.

Price, stock and minimum quantity#

Where to go:DashboardProductsyour productPricing & inventory

For a simple product, set a price and a stock. The stock goes down with every order and comes back on its own if an order is cancelled. At zero, the product can no longer be ordered.

The Pricing and inventory card with the minimum quantity

The minimum quantity per order is for selling in packs: set to 3, it makes your customer take at least 3, across all variants. Left at 1, it changes nothing.

Sizes, colours and other variants#

Where to go:DashboardProductsyour productPricing & inventoryThis product has variants

If your product comes in several versions, turn on “This product has variants”. You then describe your options, for instance Size with S, M and L, and Colour with Black and White. The grid generates itself: every combination has its own price and stock.

The variant grid generated from the options
Every combination has its row, its price and its stock.

The buttons above the grid set a price or a stock on every row at once, and then you adjust the exceptions.

A sold-out variant blocks itself on the order page. Remember to put the stock back after a restock, or your customers see “out of stock” while the goods are on your shelf.

Categories#

Where to go:DashboardCategories

Categories tidy your catalogue on the dashboard side. They help you find your products once there are dozens of them; your customers always arrive through one product's link.

Publishing#

Where to go:DashboardProductsLinkPublish

A published product gets its order link. Publish from the product list or from the editor, with the button that shows the link. A product needs at least a price before it can be published.

5. Your orders

The board, the statuses, an order's detail, and orders taken over the phone.

Every order lands on a board, one column per step. You move an order on by dragging it to the next column, and your customer is emailed at each step.

The orders board with its columns
From “Pending” to “Delivered”, one column per step.

The steps#

Where to go:Dashboard

StepWhat it means
PendingThe order has just arrived and you have not confirmed it yet.
ConfirmedYou have validated the order, often after a call to the customer.
PreparingYou are packing the parcel.
ShippedThe parcel has left with your courier.
DeliveredThe customer received the parcel and you collected the money.
CancelledThe order will not happen. The stock goes back.
DeclinedThe customer refused the parcel on delivery. The stock goes back.

You move one step at a time, and you can step back once if you make a mistake. A cancelled or declined order is final.

An order's detail#

Where to go:Dashboardan order

Click an order to open its detail: the customer and their phone number, tappable to call them straight away, the items, the price breakdown with the delivery, and the history of everything that happened.

An open order detail

Editing an order#

Until the order is being prepared, you can correct the items and the quantities. The address stays editable until it ships. The customer's contact details and your internal note can be changed at any time. Your customer is emailed when the change concerns them.

Cancelling or declining#

Cancel an order any time before it is delivered, explaining why: your customer receives your explanation. “Declined” is for the particular case of a parcel that came back because the customer would not take it. Either way the stock goes back on the shelf.

Entering an order that came another way#

Where to go:DashboardOrdersCreate an order

An order that arrived by phone or in a private message is entered by hand and joins the same board: you follow everything in one place and your stock stays right.

The order creation form

On a phone there is no drag and drop: open the order's detail, the step buttons are there.

6. Delivery and payment

Cash on delivery, your delivery fees, and the moment you collect the money.

checkout.tn is built around cash on delivery: your customer pays nothing online, they pay cash when the parcel arrives. You collect the whole amount, and we take nothing along the way.

Your delivery fees#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeStore configuration

The fee charged to your customer is set once for the whole store, in the settings. It is added to the total on the order page, after any discount. A product can carry its own amount, or free delivery.

The store's delivery settings

What your courier costs you#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeStore configuration

Also set what your courier charges you per parcel. That figure is never shown to your customers: it is what lets your analytics work out your delivery margin, so you know whether your fees pay for themselves.

Collecting the money#

Where to go:Dashboardan orderMark as paid

When you get the money back from your courier, mark the order as paid from its detail. That is what separates, in your numbers, an order that was delivered from an order that was paid.

We do not deliver and we never touch your money: you work with the courier of your choice and you collect directly.

7. Promotions and discounts

Struck-through prices, quantity discounts and coupons, and the rule that stops them stacking.

You have three mechanics, the ones you already use in your stories, applied automatically at the moment of the order.

The sale, with a struck-through price#

Where to go:DashboardProductsyour productSale discount

A sale cuts the price of every unit, by a percentage or by an amount. Your customer sees the old price struck through next to the new one, on the order page.

The Sale discount card in the product editor

Quantity discounts#

Where to go:DashboardProductsyour productQuantity discounts

Two shapes, as you prefer: tiers, for instance 10% off from 3 items, or a “buy 2, get 1 free” offer. The discount is worked out on the total quantity of that product in the order, across all variants.

The Quantity discounts card

Coupons#

Where to go:DashboardCouponsCreate a coupon

A coupon is a word your customer types on the order page. It can be worth a percentage or a fixed amount, run for a limited time, and apply to certain products only.

The coupon list
  1. Open Coupons, then “Create a coupon”.
  2. Choose the code, for instance BACK10: that is what your customer will type.
  3. Choose a percentage or an amount, and an end date if you need one.
  4. Save, then announce the code in your posts.

What stacks, and what does not#

An order never carries more than one discount. The rule is simple and it is applied for you.

SituationResult
A sale is running on the productCoupons are refused while the sale is on.
A quantity discount firesThe coupon is refused for that order.
A sale and a quantity discount on the same productNot possible: choose one of the two.
A coupon on its ownIt applies normally.

A coupon's usage counter tells you how many orders used it, which is enough to measure a campaign.

8. After the sale

The automatic emails, your customer's tracking page, and reviews.

A good part of the work after an order happens without you: your customer is kept informed, and you do not answer “where is my order?” ten times.

The automatic emails#

  • At the order, your customer receives a confirmation with the detail and a tracking link.
  • At every change of step they receive an email, with your explanation if you gave one.
  • You receive an alert of your own at every new order.

These emails carry your store's name, logo and colour, in your store's language. Your customer does not see our brand.

The tracking page#

The link in the email opens a personal tracking page: how far the order has got, the items, the total and your contact details.

The tracking page as the customer sees it
Tracking, in your store's colours.

Cancellation by the customer#

Until you have started preparing, your customer can cancel from that page. That is deliberate: a cancellation in time beats a parcel refused at the door, which costs you a courier's round trip.

Customer reviews#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeReviews

If you turn reviews on, your customer receives an invitation a few days after delivery. Only your real buyers can leave a review, and the average rating shows on your order page.

The review-request setting

A rating cannot be deleted, not even by us: that is what makes it worth something. If a comment is abusive, the store owner can hide its text, and the rating still counts.

9. Your analytics

What you collected, what is on the way, what was lost, and your conversion rate.

Selling in private messages is selling blind. The Analytics page answers the questions that really matter when you are paid on delivery.

The analytics page with its indicators
Collected, in progress, lost: three different numbers.

Collected, in progress, lost#

Where to go:DashboardAnalytics

IndicatorWhat it counts
Realized revenueDelivered orders, so the money that is actually with you.
In progressOrders still on the way: probable money, not yet earned.
LostCancelled orders and refused parcels.
Average orderThe average amount of an order over the period.

Visits and conversion#

The visit count is how many times your order pages were opened. The conversion rate is the share of those visits that became orders. It is the honest measure of your page and of your advertising.

The refusal rate#

The share of parcels refused at the door, the invisible cost of cash on delivery. Following it tells you whether your ads are bringing the right buyers.

The delivery margin#

What you charge for delivery minus what your courier charges you. That figure only appears once you have entered your courier's cost in the settings.

Looking at a single product#

The filter at the top of the page narrows every number to one product: its visits, its orders and its conversion. Handy for comparing two ads.

10. Your team

Invite an employee and give them exactly the access they need.

A store that is working is not run alone. You can invite your team and decide, area by area, what each person sees and can change.

The Members card in the store settings

Inviting someone#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeMembers

  1. Open Settings, your store, then the Members card.
  2. Enter the person's email address.
  3. Choose a ready-made role, then adjust it if you need to.
  4. Send the invitation: they receive a link valid for fourteen days.

The person you invite does not need an account beforehand. They sign up for free, then find your store in their dashboard.

The three roles#

RoleFor whomWhat they can do
Order managementThe person who packs and deliversSee and move orders on, cancel.
Stock managementThe person who keeps the catalogueCreate and edit products, keep the stock.
MarketingThe person who runs the offersCoupons, analytics, store settings.

A role is only a starting point: each area is then set separately, as read or as write.

What stays with the owner#

Managing members and deleting the store stay with the owner, whatever role the others are given. An employee who leaves is removed in one click, and their access disappears at once.

11. Conversion tracking

Plug in your Meta, TikTok or Google pixel so your ads learn from your real sales.

As long as your ad account only learns from clicks, it optimises for the curious. Plug your pixel into your order page and it learns from buyers.

Plugging in a pixel#

Where to go:DashboardSettingsyour storeAd tracking

In your store settings, paste the id of your Meta pixel, your TikTok pixel or your Google Analytics property. The id is enough, there is no script to install.

The pixel fields in the settings

What is sent#

  • The order page opening, when a visitor discovers the product.
  • The start of the order, when they submit the form.
  • The purchase, when the order is confirmed.

The platforms receive the product, the amount and the currency. Never your customers' name, phone, email or address. A short line at the foot of your order page says so.

12. Help and FAQ

The questions that come back most often, and how to reach us.
